Cynthia Browne 0 1001 Article rating: No rating

March 16, 2024

After teaching for 25 years, Melanie Moore had an epiphany about converting her 1962 vintage Volkswagen pickup truck into a “bookstore on wheels.” She’ll share with us how this came about through a variety of “partnerships,” and how she has used her profits to get books directly into the hands of underserved children. This also led to her opening The Book Bus Depot in Sharonville.

TRANSATLANTIS: WHERE MUSIC EMBRACES TWO CONTINENTS

Presented by Sylvain Acher and fellow musicians

Cynthia Browne 0 2962 Article rating: No rating

The music of jazz guitarist Sylvain’s group is both fresh and attractive, yet also familiar.  This is because the compositions, all original, draw from many diverse styles.  This kind of “world music” is all tied together by lyrically crafted melodies, choice harmonies, and Sylvain’s French vocals – vocals that can be wistful (N’fais pas d’betises) to positively gritty (New Orleans).

She’ll answer questions like, “At what age do you begin to teaching deaf children? How do they hear? For over 25 years, the Polished Brass has been providing music for tri-state audiences. Backed by its large library of brass quintet music and with talented musicians to bring it all to life, it’s easy to see why this group is called on so often for summer concerts, weddings, graduations, and more. It was dubbed the “instant orchestra” by Jim Knippenberg, former Cincinnati Enquirer columnist, because it came together so quickly. Don’t miss this great time to sit back and relax! https://polished-brass.com.
