The Walnut Hills High School Jazz Ensemble has become recognized throughout our community for its high-octane performance level.  Not only has it competed frequently  

in local and regional competitions, it has performed with the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestras, and graced venues such as the Cincinnati Art Museum, Taft Museum and the downtown Public Library.

Seven Nuns At Las Vegas

This production, a comedy,  was originally performed at Notre Dame University in 1954.  It is a hilarious play about the adventures of seven nuns who find themselves in a very unique situation.  The CWC Players will delight you with this adaptation by College Club member, Carol Parsons.  You won’t want to miss it.

Snowmen, Sleigh Bells, and Holiday Memories

What better way to begin the holiday season than a delightful holiday songfest on St. Nicholas Day!  Melissa Bonetti and other performers from the UC College Conservatory of Music (CCM) will sing a variety of those favorite melodies that put us in the gala holiday mood.  Some of the songs will be done in caroling style, some will be jazzy, and others classical.  Melissa is a master’s student at CCM with a beautiful mezzo voice who will delight all of us with her talent.

Bamso Brings Us Its Best!

What better time than springtime for an opportunity to hear three talented winners of the 2014 Jack & Lucille Wonnell Young Artist Concerto Competition, sponsored by the Blue Ash/Montgomery Symphony Orchestra (BAMSO).  Their scintillating performances are from the main symphonic sections: (1) Strings, (2) Piano, (3) Brass, Reeds, and Woodwind.  The Blue Ash/Montgomery Symphony Orchestra is conducted by Michael Chertock, the distinguished keyboardist of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and Asst. Professor of Piano at University of Cincinnati's CCM.

THE CCM YOUTH BALLET COMPANIES

CCM Senior Youth Ballet Company is made up of junior and senior high school students who are serious about ballet.  The Mini and Junior Ballet Company is made up of children ages 8 through 13 and focuses on guiding young students in their performance skills and ballet technique.  "The Carnival of Animals" and other dance selections will demonstrate their accomplishments.

THE NEW HORIZONS DIXIELAND BAND OF CINCINNATI

The New Horizons Dixieland Band of Cincinnati offers jazz and blues in addition to Dixieland tunes.  The band is composed of men and women and includes five graduates of music conservatories.  The other musicians are amateurs who love playing this peppy and fun kind of music.  Audiences of all ages find the beat and toe-tapping melodies irresistible.  A sing-along featuring holiday favorites will allow the audience to join in the merriment.

Organized in 1980, FRIENDS OF THE GROOM is a traveling drama company that presents short vignettes with powerful messages that will touch your heart.  The vignettes are conversations between ordinary people who are in difficult situations or are at turning points in their lives.  This meaningful presentation will be entertaining while bringing comfort and inspiration to you.

It is a pleasure to have the opportunity to welcome you to what promises to be an energetic and stimulating year.  The meeting on September 24 promises to be an unusually beautiful yet informative event as the Cincinnati Ballet will present the program following a sumptuous lunch. This is Victoria Morgan’s twentieth year as the Artistic Director of the ballet so it will be a year of celebration!  She will talk about her twenty seasons with Cincinnati Ballet, the impact Cincinnati Ballet is having on our community and her efforts in supporting and encouraging female choreographers and leadership in the ballet world.   The Cincinnati Ballet Second Company dancers provide an exciting peek into the typical day in the life of a professional ballet dancer and performs excerpts from the Cincinnati Ballet repertoire.  Julie Sunderland explains the Cincinnati Ballet's outreach program with its classes and scholarships and also introduces the dancers and their background. Menu;  Pork tenderloin, pea salad, roasted apples, green veggies, raspberry lovely.

 Do you remember those fabulous showgirls, the friendly nuns, and affable characters from the Old Folks Home?  The CWC Players will reintroduce these old friends at the College Club meeting  and it promises to be a delightful improvisation featuring our favorite College Club “Stars.”

Queen City Chamber Opera

Queen City Chamber Opera was founded by Dr. Isaac Selya in 2012 to advance the careers of emerging opera artists by giving them valuable professional engagements in fully staged productions with a full orchestra.  QCCO performers have been able to continue their careers with many famous opera companies around the country.  You will be happily entertained by Isaac and several of his performers.

Every holiday season, the YPCC Octet of Carolers share joyous “Fa’s and La's” with their community as they sing and spread festive cheer!  YPCC is an innovative choral ensemble that connects motivated young professionals to their community. YPCC strives to help young people, ages 21-45, connect with musical partners, community members, and local businesses through direct participation in the art-making process.   With traditional Christmas favorites like Silent Night and Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, YPCC Carolers have something on their list to bring a smile to everyone’s face.   Part of the program includes a Sing Along.
