GET MESMERIZED! POLISHED BRASS QUINTET

Directed by Bob Coil

Cynthia Browne 0 5619 Article rating: No rating

For over 25 years, the Polished Brass has been providing music for tri-state audiences. Backed by its large library of brass quintet music and with talented musicians to bring it all to life, it’s easy to see why this group is called on so often for summer concerts, weddings, graduations, and more. It was dubbed the “instant orchestra” by Jim Knippenberg, former Cincinnati Enquirer columnist, because it came together so quickly. Don’t miss this great time to sit back and relax! https://polished-brass.com.

Cincinnati Cooks! Nourishing Self-Sufficiency

Presented by Tony Lavatori

Carolyn Laemmle 0 7488 Article rating: No rating

As the Tri-State area’s largest provider of emergency food for people in crisis, the Freestore Foodbank is well regarded for helping to stave off hunger in our community. But did you know that the Freestore also provides free culinary training for unemployed and underemployed local residents – putting them on a path to self-sufficiency? This presentation shares the story of Cincinnati COOKS!, a 10-week commercial cooking school program that prepares graduates with the skills and self-confidence to succeed in culinary jobs in Greater Cincinnati. Since the program began, graduates have landed employment in more than 200 local culinary institutions, uplifting and transforming their lives.

A LIGHT IN THE DARK: DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PREVENTION AND SUPPORT

This presentation will emphasize the YWCA’s four pillars of service as part of its domestic violence program:

(1) domestic violence, (2) red flags, (3) safety planning and (4) resources and support. You’ll learn how this program partners with local agencies to coordinate services for victims. It’s important to know that the 24-hour YWCA Domestic Violence Hotline provides crisis counseling, risk assessment and support for those in Hamilton, Clermont, Brown and Adams counties. www.ywcacincinnati.org.
